What Does Working the Village Mean?

Working the village” is airline parlance which refers to when a flight attendant or other member of the cabin crew is assigned to work in coach or economy class.

This airline slang term possibly comes from the term “village idiot,” and so “working the village” means something like “working with the idiots.”
