What is a Revenue Passenger Mile?

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) are measures of transportation traffic; revenue passenger miles and revenue passenger kilometers are used throughout many forms of transport, but especially within the airline industry.
