What is Peripatetic?

Peripatetic, as an adjective, describes a person or thing which travels from place to place, especially for working or being based in different places for shorter time periods.

Peripatetic, as a noun, refers to a person who travels from place to place, usually staying for short periods of time at each.

There’s also the Peripatetic school of philosophy from Ancient Greece, founded by Aristotle. In this sense, a peripatetic was both a follower of Aristotle and also is the term for a scholar who studied Aristotle’s works.
