What is a Confluence?
A confluence, also known as a conflux, in geography, is the meeting point of two flowing bodies of water, such as streams or rivers.
A confluence, simply put, is the place where these bodies of water come together, where they converge. It can also be where a smaller body of water or tributary comes into a connection with a main body of flowing water.

One good example of a confluence is in the town of Devprayag in Uttarakhand, India, where the Alaknanda River and the Bhagirathi River meet to form the Ganga (Ganges) River (as pictured above).
