What is Baggage, Exactly?
Baggage, also known as luggage, are items which a traveler brings with them packed in a bin, bag, case, or other such container that is apart from their person. Baggage can include suitcases, backpacks, briefcases, trunks, bags, and more.
On transportation forms such as buses and planes, baggage can be deemed as checked luggage or carry-on baggage, while overweight or oversized items may be termed excess baggage.
In the hotel industry, guests with little or no baggage on arrival are referred to as “scanty baggage.” This helps hotel porters, receptionists, and managers determine if the guest poses a risk as a potential “crash and dash” skipper.
