What is an Aircraft?
Aircraft are any machine capable of flight, generally speaking.
However, in the travel industry, these more-often mean airplanes, though sometimes can be used to refer to helicopters as well.
Aircraft can be split into two categories: fixed-wing (airplanes) and rotary-wing (helicopters).
Regarding airplanes, they can also be categorized as wide-body or narrow-body.
In aviation parlance, an aircraft is sometimes referred to and abbreviated as A/C. See also our green aircraft definition.
More About Aircraft
Aircraft come in many forms, from the regular planes we use to travel around the world, to helicopters, blimps, hang gliders, and hot air balloons. There are lighter-than-air aircraft, called aerostats, such as blimps, dirigibles, and hot air balloons. Then there are the more common heavier-than-air aircraft, called aerodynes, such as planes and helicopters.
