Republic of Croatia | Republika Hrvatska
Croatia sits right at where one imagines Central Europe, Eastern Europe, and Southern Europe might meet, at the very top of the Balkan Peninsula on the eastern shores of the Adriatic Sea. Croatia borders Hungary to its northeast, Serbia to its east, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina to its southeast, and Slovenia to its northwest.
Croatia was able to join the European Union as its 28th member state on 1 July 2013, the EU’s latest addition.
