Azerbaijan is a small country in the Caucasus region which straddles the line between Europe and Asia. Russia is to its north, Georgia and Armenia are to its west and Iran is to its south.
Azerbaijan also has an exclave province (separate from the rest of the country) to its southwest, Nakhchivan. Nakhchivan also borders Armenia, Iran, and Turkey.
