Revenue Passenger Mile

Revenue passenger miles (RPMs) and Revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) are measures of transportation traffic; revenue passenger miles and revenue passenger kilometers are used in the airline industry, with rail travel, with buses, ferries, and more.

revenue passenger mile is calculated by multiplying the number of paying passengers by the number of miles taken. In the airline industry, for example, an RPM would be a paying passenger flown one mile.

revenue passenger kilometer is calculated by multiplying the number of paying passengers by the number of kilometers taken. In the airline industry, for example, an RPK would be a paying passenger flown one kilometer.
