Resident Mission

Updated: 2017-11-30.

In diplomacy, a resident mission is a diplomatic office representing one state or territory to and within the state or nation which is its host.

This is the usual kind of diplomatic mission one refers to, such as embassies and consulates. It has a permanent representative office in its host state.

The opposite of a resident mission is the non-resident mission.
