An origin open-jaw ticket, in airline parlance, is a kind of open-jaw flight itinerary where a roundtrip flight has the passenger’s origin differing in each direction. Different airports in the same city don’t usually count towards being open-jaw, however.

For example, let’s look at a British tourist visiting Italy: If they book London (LHR) to Milan (MXP), returning Milan (MXP) to Manchester (MAN), this is known as a origin open-jaw; they started their trip from London and returned ultimately to Manchester, though their destination (Milan) stayed the same.
