In hotel parlance, the modified American plan is a board basis term meaning that the room price or rate includes one or two meals, usually breakfast and lunch, or brunch.
Modified American plan rates won’t include any other meals, drinks, or snacks which are not offered with the breakfast and/or lunch.
The modified American plan is sometimes referred to as half-pension, demi-pension, or half board.
