Line Holder

Updated: 2017-03-27.

A line holder, in airline parlance, is a flight attendant working a line and not on reserve.

As seniority grows, a flight attendant will eventually reach the line holder level. Then, they can hold a monthly schedule of flying assignments, rather than on-call status.

“Becoming a line holder is what every flight attendant dreams of,” flight attendant Sara Keagle tells AOL. “It finally gives you the flexibility to plan your life outside of work.”
