In travel, a frequent lodger program, known also as a frequent guest program, is a kind of loyalty program, a marketing offering by various hotels and hotel chains to increase and retain customer stays, loyalty, and happiness. Hotels which provide a frequent lodger program offer points per eligible stay or purchase which a guest can later redeem for free room nights or other perks, upon accrual of the necessary points.
A frequent lodger program is the hotel industry’s equivalent of a frequent flier program. Following in the footsteps of many frequent flier programs, many have now embraced other industries by offering affinity cards, as well as having special shops and offers where frequent lodgers may purchase various things unrelated to the hotel to earn rewards in their program.
