Updated: 2017-03-27.

A confluence, also known as a conflux, in geography, is the meeting point of two flowing bodies of water, such as streams or rivers. A confluence, simply put, is the place where they come together. It can also be where a smaller body of water or tributary comes into a connection with a main body of flowing water.
