Ancillary Purchase

An ancillary purchase is a purchase from a travel provider (airline, hotel, etc.) that is revenue to them from non-ticket sources.

Ancillary purchases may include such items as checked baggage fees, premium seat purchases, priority boarding, lounge memberships, Wi-Fi passes, in-flight food and beverage purchases, in-flight entertainment, unaccompanied minor fees, pet travel fees, ticket change fees, direct ticketing charges, administrative service charges, and standby upgrades purchased at the gate.
