Advance Purchase Requirement

Updated: 2017-12-07.

The Advance Purchase Requirement, or APR, is the requirement that a ticket must be purchased a minimum number of days before the flight departs or before the first date of stay (at hotel), usually to obtain a promotional fare or price.

Many airlines and hotels, when having a sale, have a 7-, 14-, or 21-day advance purchase requirement in the promotion fare rules.

Not to be confused with Average Published Rate (also abbreviated as APR).
